Volunteer With Orca Running
Our events cannot happen without the help of volunteers!
Want to get a discount on your next Orca Running event? Want to just give back to a good cause? Want to hear and endless array of Porter’s dad jokes? Whatever your reason, consider joining us and volunteering at one of our races!
We always need volunteers for our races in the following positions:
- Parking Support
- Day of Race Packet Pick-up
- Aid Stations
- Course Monitors
- Finish Line Medals, Water and Food
- Gear Check
- General Help
How does it work?
You can sign up to volunteer for any of our races by visiting the event’s registration page and selecting the “Volunteer” tab. From there you can see the available roles and approximate time slots! About a week before the race, you will hear from our Volunteer Coordinator with specific information on your race day job.
What do you get?
As a thank you volunteers receive the following after completing their race day commitment:
- Discount on a future Orca Running race; some volunteer slots qualify for 50% off, while others qualify for 100% off. Check the description on the volunteer page for a particular race for details.
The Runner Refund
Are you coming to run the race and want to bring someone along? Get them signed up to volunteer for a shift (must be at least 2 hours) and we will refund 50% of your race entry! To take advantage of the Runner Refund, email Leah at leah@orcarunning.com once the volunteer has signed up. Your entry fee will be refunded after your volunteer completes their race day commitment. The volunteer does not also receive a 50% discount on a future event. Either you receive a 50% refund OR the volunteer can receive a 50% discount on a future event.
