about Craft classic

Indulge in two of Seattle’s true loves: Running and Craft Beer! The Craft Classic Half Marathon and 5K offers a fast Seattle area course with riverside views.

This race is flat and fast and offers plenty to do post-race in charming downtown Redmond. Craft Classic Seattle has become a local classic for many runners.

Craft Classic takes place on land historically inhabited by the following Native American tribes:

Coast Salish

There are no higher stakes than being kind to the earth; we care deeply about keeping our planet viable for the next generation. To that end, we organize our events with an eye towards minimizing our impact on the planet. Read more here.

Committed to Making All Feel Welcome

The course

Both courses are purely out and backs on the beautiful Sammamish River Trail.

Aid stations are evenly spaced along the half marathon course and will provide runners with water, electrolytes and Clif and GU gels.  Half marathon participants will pass 5 aid stations, spaced approximately every 2-3 miles.  There are no aid stations on the 5k course.

Super Pacers is providing pacers for the half marathon for the following finish times: 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, and 2:15.

Both the half marathon course and 5K course are USATF certified. View the 5K certification here and the half marathon certification here.

Orca Running is committed to reducing waste and protecting the environment.  As part of this commitment, we are making all events cupless. The tiny little cups that are used for an instant generate tremendous amounts of garbage. We recommend you purchase a handheld bottle, a hydration pack, or we can provide you with a small re-useable cup that folds easily into your waistband to use during the entire race and future races.

The top three overall finishers for each gender will receive a gift certificate from Road Runner Sports! $150 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place.

Overall awards will be given to the top 3 male, female, and non-binary runners based off of gun time not chip time.  So, you should start in the front of the pack for your distance.  We also give out age group awards in 5 year increments, so be sure to check your results at the Orca Running tent.  We DO NOT MAIL OUT AWARDS after the race, they must be picked up at the race.

There is free on street parking in downtown Redmond for both the Half Marathon and 5K.

Both the Half Marathon and 5K  start and finish at Central Connector Park in downtown Redmond, located at: 160 161st Avenue Northeast, Redmond, WA 98052

We recommend you stay at the new Archer Hotel in Redmond.  It is just a couple of blocks from the start/finish line.

We have a clear set of policies that we uniformly follow for all races. Entries are not refundable, but you can defer your entry, transfer it to another race, or transfer it to another participant. You can review our full set of policies here.

After you’re done running have a frosty beverage from Georgetown Brewery!  Each beer is $5 and 100% of money collected goes directly to the Woodinville Firefighters Benevolent Fund.

Charity Partner

For the Craft Classic, we are pleased to be working with Firefighters for Good, a coalition of local firefighters working together to serve their communities by giving back directly to those who need it most. For more information, please click here.
